Junior Tennis
Foreside Fit has one of the top teams of tennis professionals in Maine. Our coaches are experienced, certified, and have earned awards for their skills on the court. Most importantly, they care about helping young players grow and enjoy tennis in an encouraging, structured setting.
Our Junior Pathway uses the Red–Orange–Green–Yellow (ROGY) progression, a well-known model supported by the USTA. With age-appropriate equipment, court sizes, and scoring, this system helps kids develop their skills and get ready for competition over time.

The Color Ball Progression
Red Ball
Ages: 5–8
Court: 36' court
Ball: Low compression (slower bounce)
The Red Ball stage introduces young players to tennis in a fun, high-energy environment.
The Color Ball Progression
Orange Ball
Ages: 5–8
Court: 36' court
Ball: Low compression (slower bounce)
Orange Ball bridges the gap between fundamentals and competitive play. Players refine technique while beginning to think strategically.
The Color Ball Progression
Green Ball
Ages: 11–13
Court: Full 78' court
Ball: Slightly reduced compression (Green Dot)
Green Ball transitions players onto the full court while still providing manageable rally speed.

Yellow Ball
Ages: 13+
Court: Full regulation
Ball: Standard compression
Yellow Ball represents full competitive tennis under the Rules of Tennis.
